Make sticking to a keto diet easy with simple keto crock-pot recipes like this shredded chicken and bacon alfredo. While there’s no need for side dishes with this all-in-one keto chicken recipe, if you want to zhuzh up your meal with tasty cream cheese cauliflower rice or creamy garlic green beans, you can get away with adding a side dish without a whole lotta extra net carbs.
While some may want to test this recipe out in a pressure cooker, I prefer to keep my easy meals really easy at the end of a long day with a slow cooker method. After all, good things come to those who are patient with their easy keto recipes. Plus, this is far better than any of those other keto rotisserie chicken recipes you’ve tried 😉 An added benefit to a slow cooker meal like this is all you need to do is spray the crockpot with a high heat cooking spray, and clean up is a breeze! (Cue ALL of the super simple low carb crock pot recipes and meal ideas).
But before you put those low carb crock-pot recipes on speed dial – make sure you’re using a coconut oil cooking spray over a canola oil version. While neither provides a whole lot of nutritional information on the label, and neither adds to the fat content or carb count to our easy keto meals, we don’t do highly processed vegetable oils when we do keto the right way 😉
Back to the reasons I prefer a low and slow cooking method. Even though an instant pot pressure cooker is all the rage, they seem like too much hard work for me when it comes to keto comfort food … plus – those things are scary!
Either way, this is an easy recipe your entire family will love … just be sure to come back and let me know you survived your Instapot keto-friendly recipes and maaayyybbbeee next time I’ll consider trying this cooking method again in the future.
When putting this recipe together, I typically use two pounds chicken breasts since that’s what diet culture has ingrained in me 😉 although chicken thighs are likely more appropriate to keep your keto crockpot recipes keto friendly.
I cannot stress just how important eating enough healthy fats on a keto diet is for weight loss. Thankfully all of my low carb recipes do the talking for me since my food choices always include plenty of healthy fats like butter, coconut oil, olive oil, grass-fed ground beef and occasionally a small amount of healthy fat extras like cheddar cheese. These are all key ingredients to keep your fat loss coming and get all of the amazing health benefits you keep hearing about on a ketogenic meal plan.
When it comes to keto crock pot recipes, it’s always best to choose a slow cooker setting so the chicken is nice and tender. The cooking time will be a little longer, but since there aren’t too many better things in life than enjoying the delicious aromas from the creamy sauce made up of heavy cream, butter and garlic powder, I really see this as an added bonus.
Don’t forget to share this new recipe on social media and to your keto bacon recipes board since it’s the perfect slow cooker recipe for busy nights when you never seem to have enough time and for meal planning in colder months (although, I’m in AZ – so really, how cold can it get? 😆).
PS … one more quick tip for this easy dinner recipe – make it even easier by prepping the bacon ahead of time and storing it in an airtight container in the fridge for when it’s go time! While I haven’t stumbled upon any best bacon brand for keto, Bacos ain’t it 🧐
When I mention bacon bits on the recipe card, I’m NEVER talking about the junky store bought kind you might pick up out of convenience. Your body always prefers the real thing when it comes to the food you give it.
Speaking of keto meal preps – chop a good amount of veggies, like the green onions used to garnish this delicious meal, when you have time and store them in a green container that will keep them fresh.
