Looking for an easy broccoli recipe that uses ground beef instead of flank steak or sirloin steak?
Even though steak is delicious, it’s not the only way to make beef & broccoli. All of the different brands of steak cost more than this easy keto broccoli stir fry recipe that uses ground beef as the perfect keto meal substitute. (I know, not completely mind blowing when it comes to keto beef tips – but every little bit of savings helps 😉)
I love keeping keto simple with an easy keto beef recipe filled with plenty of fresh broccoli so you stay satisfied in your keto lifestyle. If you prefer to work with frozen broccoli vs. fresh broccoli florets, that’s just as good in this creamy broccoli & beef. Frozen veggies can make for an easy recipe, plus they typically have more nutrients since they’re frozen at the peak of freshness.
Other ingredients this recipe calls for are heavy cream, butter and minced garlic for the cream sauce, plus green onions, salt and pepper to complete this low carb beef meal.
First thing – start by gathering up the sauce ingredients since this step takes the longest. While you may not think of a keto ground beef stir fry recipe as one of your favorite new keto heavy whipping cream recipes, I assure you, this keto sauce doesn’t disappoint! So grab your heavy cream and let’s whip up this keto friendly sauce that you’ll want to add to everything 😉
Melt the butter over medium heat in a medium saucepan. For the most flavorful garlic sauce, add in the minced garlic while the butter is melting. Then you’ll want to add the heavy cream to the sauce pan in 1/2 cup increments, while stirring frequently. Allow the sauce to cook for around 20 minutes, or until it thickens.
The recipe card doesn’t call for a thickening agent, but I prefer arrowroot powder to xanthan gum if you’d like more thickness. If you add in arrowroot, be sure to only use small amounts of water combined with arrowroot powder. Mix 1 tablespoon of powder with 1 tablespoon of water before mixing it into the creamy garlic sauce. Start there and add more if it’s still not thick enough for you. Do this at the very end, once you’ve removed the sauce from the medium-low heat.
Next you’ll want to brown the ground beef in a large skillet over higher heat. As the beef browns, sprinkle on small amounts of a high quality sea salt and black pepper to taste. You can also stir in a little bit of red pepper flakes if you want to give this dish a little kick.
Once the beef is lightly browned, mix in the broccoli florets and give it a good stir. You’ll use around 3.5 cups of broccoli, which is 9 oz. Cook until the broccoli softens, or for around 5 minutes.
When the beef is fully browned and the broccoli is soft, pour the creamy garlic sauce over the beef mixture to complete your delicious meal.
Be sure to add this to your quick dinners list since it’s sure to be among your family favorites. Creamy broccoli & beef is also a great recipe to add to your beef recipes board on Pinterest, so don’t forget to share 😉
Bonus – there’s no need for a side dish since this is an all-in-one main dish / meal your whole family will love!Print
