Fat Bombs Burn Fat on Keto
When everyone else on the keto block won’t shut up about net carbs, why is this girl who lost 100 pounds with a low carb lifestyle telling you to eat more keto bombs?
First thing, keto is a high fat, low-carb diet. You already know the carb count absolutely matters when it comes to weight loss. But do you realize you will also struggle to lose weight if your fat macros aren’t also in check? Because that’s an issue too!
Starvation mode is a real thing. Too many women eat too little food in order to lose weight.
This happens when you don’t get enough of the high quality fats your body needs. A problem can arise when you follow the low carb way with a sole focus on cutting carbs. You may lose weight at the beginning, but following this method eventually leads to a weight loss stall for most keto dieters.
Why not conquer sweet cravings and burn more fat with a delicious chocolate combo like almond butter fat bombs instead?
Let’s chit chat about how to make these delicious keto treats.

How to Make Almond Butter Fat Bombs
First thing – measure out the heavy cream and set aside. It’s important to allow the cream to come to room temperature. This will help you avoid curdling in the recipe.
Then line aΒ mini muffin pan with mini muffin liners. Don’t skip this step. If you do, clean up won’t be your friend. I mean, unless you enjoy licking that delicious leftover dark chocolate out of every single mini muffin slot.
Next, let’s talk about the basic ingredients that make up thisΒ easy fat bomb recipe. This is one of my favorite combination of healthy fats. Coconut oil is great at burning fat, while almond butter is a yummy nut butter that adds sweetness to keto recipes.
Melt the almond butter, coconut oil, and chocolate together over medium-low heat. Stir the chocolate almond butter mixture together while melting with a whisk.
Once melted and combined well, set aside to cool. Then whisk in the heavy cream and vanilla extract.
Here’s a word of caution: don’t add vanilla extract to melted chocolate that hasn’t had a chance to cool. While the sizzle is fun to hear, burnt chocolate fat bombs aren’t a good thing. Don’t ask me how I know.
Once combined, add the chocolate almond butter mixture to the lined mini muffin tins in one tablespoon increments. Place in the freezer until firm. This should take approximately 20-30 minutes. Store in the freezer or fridge in aΒ Ziploc bag or another airtight container.
Where’s the Keto Friendly Sweeteners?
Now that you’re at the end of the recipe, are you wondering where’s the drops of liquid stevia? What about the monk fruit sweetener? How the heck can you make a keto dessert recipe without adding a low carb sweetener?
Thankfully these fat bombs have a delicious flavor without added sweeteners. They’re the perfect snack to start weaning off sweeteners if this is a goal you have in mind.
I’ll admit, I previously used all of the artificial sweeteners a keto diet has to offer. I gave up added sweeteners several years ago, and never looked back. While I made it to my goal weight keeping keto friendly sweeteners in my plan, I found staying at that goal was more difficult when I ate too many sweetened recipes.
Too Many Sweetened Recipes Can Cause Weight Gain
Adding too many sweeteners can lead to more cravings and hunger on a keto diet. This includes the sweeteners you add, as well as foods labeled keto friendly. Here’s looking at you chocolate chips loaded with sugar alcohols.
This is the reason I switched from using cocoa powder in keto fat bomb recipes to 85% or higher dark chocolate. Yes, there is a small amount of real sugar in dark chocolate. Some keto advocates will scream that dark chocolate isn’t keto for this very reason.
I’d rather use a touch of natural sugar in keto recipes. Your body understands how to digest the real thing. Who knows what it does with artificial sweeteners made from chemicals in a lab?
Oh wait, I know!
When you eat things your body doesn’t understand how to digest, these things get stored in fat cells. Your body stores things it doesn’t view as food in fat cells until the coast is clear. The problem is – if you constantly eat all of the artificially sweetened keto treats, the coast is never clear.
I’m not saying you should go cold turkey when it comes to removing keto approved sweeteners from every recipe. Next time you make a fat bomb recipe, use less sweetener than you previously used. Continue to cut back on the next batch until your taste buds change. Soon enough you won’t need extra sweeteners at all.
I know that sounds like crazy talk – but trust me, it works!
