Fresh green beans have always been one of my favorite side dishes on a low carb diet. These keto green beans are the best way to add more healthy fats to your keto meal plan.
The great thing about this green bean recipe is its low in net carbs, but still packed with flavor. This helps you get the nutrients you need to feel satisfied on a keto diet.

Creamy Garlic Green Beans Ingredients
This low carb green beans recipe only calls for 4 ingredients: green beans, butter, heavy cream and minced garlic.
When seeking out ingredients for keto recipes at local grocery stores, aim for high quality ingredients. I typically buy a large bag of organic green beans at Costco since our family goes through this keto side quickly.
While you can get away with conventional green beans since string beans aren’t on the dirty dozen list, I find the less toxins in my green veggies, the better I feel about my easy keto side dishes.
Whenever it comes to dairy products, organic is best since the cows aren’t treated with antibiotics. When conventional cows are treated with antibiotics, the antibiotics are passed onto you. This can create disturbances in your gut microbiome, which can lead to less than desirable weight loss results.
Buying grass-fed butter also provides more nutrients than you’ll get from conventional butter. Since many keto meal plans use a lot of butter, choosing grass-fed butter in recipes can make a difference in the overall nutrients you receive from low carb recipes.
How to Make Creamy Garlic Green Beans
This garlicky green beans recipe is so easy to put together. While tender green beans make the perfect addition to your holiday table, there’s no need to save this easy side dish for special occasions. Our family enjoys this great recipe year round since it takes less than 15 minutes to make, start to finish.
The first step is to melt butter in a medium or large skillet over medium heat. Once the butter is melted, stir in the minced garlic. Allow the garlic to lightly brown in the melted butter. This should take 2-3 minutes.
After the garlic is lightly browned, pour in the heavy cream. Use a wooden spoon to stir the ingredients together.
Once the cream and butter are well combined, add the green beans into the hot skillet and stir.
Next, turn the heat up to medium-high heat in order to bring the cream mixture to a boil. Then reduce the heat to medium and cover the green beans. Cook until the green beans are tender, which should take 7 – 10 minutes.
Once fully cooked, stir one last time. Then season with salt and black pepper to taste, and serve. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge.

Just mix all of the ingredients together in a large bowl and then add the green beans to an air fryer basket. Cook at 375 degrees until the green beans turn golden brown. Line the basket with parchment paper for easy clean up.

They’re also great to serve alongside chicken recipes like Mediterranean chicken breasts since these kinds of meals aren’t as high in fat. Adding a healthy veggie recipe to chicken is great for weight loss, but you have to also be sure to get in enough fat on a ketogenic diet in order to get results.
