OK, back to why you need to quit keto immediately before you gain weight!
After losing more than 100 pounds with low-carb and keto diets, I’m definitely a believer in the power of a real food, keto diet! But just because keto worked so well for me, that doesn’t mean keto is the right diet for you…at least right now. By the end of this video you’re going to learn 3 reasons why you may want to quit keto right now in order to avoid weight gain.
Reason #1 – You’re falling off the keto rails each week!
If you’re following strict keto macros during the week, but failing off the keto rails each weekend because it’s just too hard to stick to your keto plan, following a pattern like this could result in weight gain.
Keto is one of those diets that if you want to see results, you can’t really allow yourself cheat days…at least not at the beginning. It takes some people a full week or longer to get into ketosis…so if you’re cheating every single week because you’re too tempted to stick to your plan on the weekends, you could be spinning your wheels and actually gain weight on a keto diet.
Reason #2 – You’re still depending on too many keto convenience foods
We live in a fast paced world and sometimes having an option that’s easy to grab and go is necessary…but if you’re still depending on too many keto convenience foods that are bragging about net carbs on the package, this could lead to weight gain on a keto diet.
Keto is a real food based diet and that’s a big part of the reason it works so well for people. Our bodies are made to recognize real food, not the junk chemicals and sweeteners added to many keto convenience foods sold at stores. While you may have temporary success while existing solely on these products, we all want long term weight loss. That typically means you need to eat real food.
Now I’m not saying that you can’t ever eat these convenience foods if you want to find long term success with keto, but you should eat them on a more occasional basis, while you focus on real food like meat, veggies, eggs and healthy fats as the basis of your keto plan.
I won’t lie to you – I still sometimes eat keto convenience foods and I’m still successful. If you have a favorite keto product, let me know what it is in the comments below. I won’t judge you, I swear! I’ll even add a link to my favorite keto snack in the comments.
Reason #3 – You’re following a high fat keto diet, but you’re not digesting fat well
Many people rush into a high fat keto diet because they hear about all of these amazing success stories, but their bodies lost the ability to digest fat well some time ago.
If you’ve been part of the dieting world for some time and you frequently participated in low-fat or low-calorie diets, you stopped calling on your bile flow to process fat. All of the “healthy” whole grains and processed fats, like canola oil, that you did eat sludged up your bile flow.
This means eating a high fat diet could result in symptoms like urgent diarrhea, loose stool, gas, itchy skin, acne, and nausea, just to name a few undesirable symptoms. Not only are none of these symptoms a good time, but they can also completely stall your weight loss attempts.
