Keto Crock Pot Recipe Cooking Tips
You can test this recipe out in a pressure cooker if that’s your thing. I prefer to keep my easy meals really easy. This means at the end of a long day, I prefer a slow cooker method. Good things come to those who are patient with their easy keto recipes.
An added benefit to a slow cooker meal like this – spraying the crockpot with a high heat cooking spray makes clean up a breeze! (Cue ALL of the super simple low carb crock pot recipes and meal ideas).

But before putting low carb crock-pot recipes on speed dial – make sure you’re using a coconut oil cooking spray. Skip highly processed fats like a canola oil cooking spray that lead to more inflammation on a keto diet.
While it’s true that neither option adds to the fat content or carb count of easy keto meals, we don’t do highly processed vegetable oils when you follow keto the right way π

Back to the reasons I prefer a low and slow cooking method. Even though an instant pot pressure cooker is all the rage, they seem like a lot of work when it comes to keto comfort food. Plus – those things are scary!
Either way you make it, this is an easy recipe your entire family will love. Be sure to come back and let me know you survived your Instapot keto-friendly recipes. Maaayyybbbeee next time I’ll consider this cooking method.
Choose High Quality, High Fat Ingredients:
I use two pounds chicken breasts for this keto chicken crock pot recipe. Like most former yo-yo dieters, using a leaner meat is exactly what diet culture ingrained in me the two decades I participated. Over time it became a preference.
Chicken thighs can be more appropriate to keep keto crockpot recipes keto friendly. This cut is higher in fat, which makes it a more keto-friendly option. However, if you also prefer a leaner meat, this recipe delivers on high quality fats in other ways. Use whichever version of chicken you enjoy.
Eat Enough Healthy Fats
I cannot stress just how important eating enough healthy fats on a keto diet is for weight loss. Thankfully all of my low carb recipes do the talking for me since my food choices always include plenty of healthy fats.
My favorite healthy fats include grass-fed butter, coconut oil, olive oil, grass-fed ground beef, and occasionally a small amount of healthy fat extras like cheddar cheese.
These are all key ingredients to keep fat loss coming on keto. Plenty of healthy fats ensure you reap all of the health benefits you keep hearing about on a ketogenic meal plan.
Whether you choose breasts or thighs, choose organic whenever possible. Keeping toxins low on a keto diet is also important. Conventional meats have a higher toxic load, which make them a less than ideal choice.

How to Make the Best Chicken and Bacon Keto Crock Pot Recipe
When it comes to keto crock pot recipes, it’s best to choose a low slow cooker setting. This ensures the chicken remains tender. Keep in mind the cooking time will be a little longer on a low setting. Since there aren’t too many better things in life than enjoying the delicious aromas from the creamy garlic sauce, I really see this as an added bonus.
After you spray the crockpot with a non-stick spray and turn the heat low, add the chicken. Season with salt, pepper and garlic powder.
Next, combine the creamy garlic sauce ingredients in a medium saucepan on the stove.
Start by melting the butter on medium-low heat. As it melts, stir in the minced garlic. Stir while the butter and garlic melt together. Only cook for 2-3 minutes before adding the heavy cream.
Once you stir in the heavy cream, continue to heat over medium for a few more minutes. Allow the flavors to combine while stirring with a whisk.
Pour the sauce over the chicken in the crock pot.
Place the lid on top and let it cook for 5-7 hours. Even though you’ll be tempted, try not to lift the lid while cooking. Every time you check on it, it could add another 15 minutes to total cooking time.
If you didn’t already meal prep the bacon bits, cook some up in a skillet while the chicken cooks. You can also dice the green onions and set aside.
When I mention bacon bits on the recipe card, I’m NEVER talking about the junky store bought kind you might pick up out of convenience. Your body always prefers the real thing when it comes to food.
Say this with me – Bacos are not keto. At least they don’t fall into a clean version of keto.
A quick tip for this easy dinner recipe: make it even easier by prepping the bacon ahead of time. Meal prep bacon one day each week by throwing a large batch on a griddle. Store cooked bacon in an airtight container in the fridge for when it’s go time!
Shred the Chicken and Serve
Once the chicken is fully cooked, use two forks to shred the chicken. Shredding it while in the crock pot will help all of the sauce mix into the chicken.
If the idea of shredding chicken with forks sounds daunting, you can also try a hand mixer. Use it to shred the chicken on a low speed. This may be a fun idea if you have mini cooks that want to pitch in.
After you shred the chicken, stir in the bacon bits. Garnish with green onions and serve.
